Programming, fun, & friends.

Spend a week of your summer learning to code. Our one-week camps — all completely cost-free — teach kids the basics of computer science, 9AM–3PM Monday to Friday.

Camps are open to students entering grades 4–8 (ages 9–14). No prior experience necessary. At in-person sessions the materials students need are provided; virtual campers use their own computer.

Intro to PythonInput/output, looping, graphics, functions. (Grade 4+)
Intermediate PythonOOP, APIs, dictionaries, tuples, lists. (Grade 5+ or after Intro)
Web DevelopmentHTML layouts, CSS design, JavaScript & responsive sites. (Grade 6+)
Intro to JavaInput/output, looping, arrays, functions. (Grade 5+)

Good to know

What does it cost?
Nothing. The materials your child needs for in-person camp are provided by us. (Virtual sessions require a student-provided computer.)
Who can participate?
Anyone in 4th–8th grade (ages 9–14) can register as a student. For special circumstances, email contact@steelcitycodes.org.
Can high schoolers volunteer?
Yes — any high-school student (grades 9–12) with a CS background can apply. Volunteer applications open in the spring.
What are the hours?
Camps run one week, 9AM–3PM every day, Monday through Friday.
