Core curriculum

Every chapter and camp runs on a Steel City Codes–built curriculum, designed and refined for younger students since 2018.

Python

Intro: programming basics, variables and data types, input, if-statements, loops, functions.
Intermediate: lists and tuples, memory and references, dictionaries, object-oriented programming, inheritance.

Java

Intro: programming basics, variables and data types, user input, if-statements, loops, functions.
Intermediate: methods, arrays, object-oriented programming, inheritance, multidimensional arrays.

Workshops & electives

Beyond the core languages, we run hands-on workshops to spark different interests.

Web DevelopmentHTML tags, the CSS box model, colors, Flexbox, interactivity with JavaScript.
App Development (Thunkable)Components, multiple screens, custom elements, data, interactivity with code blocks.
